In 1993, Axel Tórgarð penned all of the morning prayers broadcasted on the radio for that entire year. He organised these to form a comprehensive exposition of the Old Testament. When a year had passed, he had incorporated texts from each book in the Old Testament.

He presented each book to the listener, clarifying its author, time, content and purpose. If the Old Testament were to appeal to Christians, Tórgarð believed, then it had to be understood in the light of the New Testament. He had inherited this understanding from Dag Monrad Møller, the priest in charge of Tórgarð's confirmation and the one who had imparted to him the famous words of Saint Augustine: “The new is in the old concealed, the old is in the new revealed.”
