The title Dumbfilmarnir  (The Silent Movies) makes you think about the first silent movies, where people communicated in silence.

Such images come to mind when reading Gyrði Elíasson's clever and concise depictions.

About the author

Gyrðir Elíasson (1961) is a highly prolific Icelandic author. He has a very unique style that characterises his writings. Tremendously talented, he has written novels, short stories and poems, and has won many awards for his literary achievements. In 2011, he won the Nordic Council Literature Prize for his short story collection Milli trjánna.
