George Orwell

Jones is a farmer but is lazy and drunken time and again. He neglects his animals and one day he forgets to feed them. That’s when the stables have had enough and the farm animals begin to protest against their improper conditions. The leaders of the uprising are the pigs Napoleon and Snowball. Their goal is to revolutionize the farm, making it a fair and beneficial place for everyone. Animalism is the new philosophy that will rule the farm.

There are seven commandments in animalism:
Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
No animal shall wear clothes.
No animal shall sleep in a bed.
No animal shall drink alcohol.
No animal shall kill any other animal.
All animals are equal.

They give the farm a new name and reorganize everything as promised. The transformation will benefit all four-legged creatures. But as time passes visions and examples fade and are finally forgotten.

ANIMAL FARM is a story about the revolution that failed. This is the ironical story of how power corrupts and destroys good ideals.
