This book about Magnus Heinason was first published in 1877 with the Danish title: “Mogens Hejnesøn – Et Tidsbillede fra det sekstande Århundrede”. Historian Troels-Lind writes that people had changing views of the fate which the main character was given due to disagreement and discord with Kristoffur Valkendorf, when he was sentenced and decapitated.
He wanted to know exactly what had happened between these two adversaries. This case was exactly something that lay within his area of research and there was no shortage of material to cover the story.
