Almost everything seems schizophrenic, all relationships between persons are twisted and bifurcated, deranged and perverted, strange. And just this makes the tales interesting. 

The strange mirror images, the weird progressions and the odd solutions capture the imagination. 

Tragic fates, outcasts, prostitutes and other poor wretches together with mentally tortured characters tease our inquisitiveness.

The environment is urban, mostly in the outskirts, in dark, dirty alleys. The light is unique and the soundscape is of repeating trains that crash noisily in and out of the picture—none of which have been seen in Faroese literature before.
