These are the words of Bergljót, the eldest daughter in the family, in an email to her sisters following a brutal discussion concerning inheritance advancement.
At the core of the inheritance settlement is the question of how to divide two summerhouses on the island Hvaler among them. The two houses have played an important role for all of them growing up.
Two daughters have taken care of the parents and the summerhouses for many years. They are supposed to inherit. But two other children remain, who have cut ties with the family.
Why are they interfering with the inheritance?
During the conversation regarding the inheritance, another story surfaces, provoking some fierce emotions. Bergljót admits that it takes courage to tell her version of the family history. But only though taking her own feelings seriously and saying them out loud, will it be possible to move on.
