Heini Olsen
was born in Vestmanna in 1930. He studied engineering in Norway and Denmark and has worked as an engineer in the Department for Transportation. Early in his career, he worked in Persia for 7 years and 2 years in Denmark. He was also contracted out as a road construction engineer to Afghanistan (1 year), Nigeria (1/2 year), and Zanzibar and Tanzania (4 years). He is one of the founders of the Faroese Engineers Union and IRF. He has also written and produced 40-50 articles, reviews and radio programmes.
