holds a bachelor degree in literature and philosophy from the University of Copenhagen. He works as a project tutor and translator, and as a media analyst (for Infopag, 2006-2010, and now for Infomedia, 2010-)

From 2002 to 2008, Hjelm wrote reviews for Fregnir, Sosialurin and Dimmalætting. In connection with the “Night of Culture” in 2006 and 2007, he also wrote reviews for Wonderful Copenhagen.

He edited and published the literary magazine Braga from 1999 to 2002.
