In this final book GYRÐIR ELÍASSON concludes his trilogy that began with SANDÁBÓKIN (The Book of Sandá River), which was followed by SUÐURGLUGGIN (The South Window). Both novels revolve around the lives and works of artists. In the first book, we follow a painter, in the second, an author. 

SORGARMARSJURIN (The March of Sorrow) is the final novel of the trilogy and revolves around a man working in advertising in the beginning of the story but who becomes increasingly drawn to the art of music.
