ATVENT (Advent) is the story of the shepherd, Benadikt, who takes off into the mountains every Advent to look for sheep left behind from the drive. For the perilous journey, he brings two companions; Leo, the dog, and Eitil, the wether, who is a strong leader.

On their twenty-seventh trip, they get caught in a furious, life-threatening snowstorm. The author masterly describes the thoughts going through Benadikt’s head on the way. So vivid is his narration of Benatikt’s tireless struggle for his life in the heavy snowstorm, that you are unable to put down the book before you know whether Benadikt makes it or not.
