The weather is gorgeous all over the Faroes, and six girlfriends have rented a summerhouse in Gjógvará, where they are to enjoy the weekend together.

That Saturday morning, the news reports on a fishing boat having caught on its long line a rubber boot belonging to a sailor, who has been reported missing.

This ought not affect the women’s weekend getaway.

But during the night the whole village is shocked, as a holiday cottage is caught in flames, and the schoolteacher is found hanged in the storehouse. The police arrive to investigate the incident. No one understands what has happened. The knitting club girlfriends are at the centre of action once more. From the depths of the ocean, a new mystery has surfaced.
