Høgni Hoydal
was born in 1966 and is a Faroese politician. He holds a degree in history and journalism from Roskilde University. Before entering politics, Hoydal was a sailor, a substitute teacher and a journalist at the Faroese Broadcasting Corporation. In 1998 he was elected to Parliament as a member of the separatist political party Tjóðveldisflokkurin. He later became the chairman of the party.
