Unfortunately many children experience pain and suffering. Even worse: The childhood may pass without anyone doing something about it. Maybe people don’t know any better. Maybe they do know, but do not dare to do or say anything.  

The conversations in this book about these themes should awaken an awareness about one’s own body. We wish to encourage children so that they will have the courage to let adults know if something wrong, malicious or strange has happened to them.  

The book also focuses on the difference between exciting and serious secrets. We attempt to have children explain secrets which can be “as large as a mountain”, to use the words of a four year old boy. We want adults to have the courage and take time to listen to what the child is saying.

The book is written in the faith that adults will make a stop and pay attention to the children and take action where it is needed. It is the hope of he authors that the book will motivate adults to act if there is suspicion that something is out of order: Words and speech, violence, sexual harassment, or if children are witnessing a fierce row or fight between the parents.  

The conversations in the book are suitable for people from the age of four to 100.
