Marius Olsen / Prints 1980-2016
This is a selection of the best graphic designs by Marius from the past 36 years.
These 36 years have been a remarkable journey for a man, who lives inside everything, lives apart from everything, who creates from within, and observes from without.
The book is 400 pages long. Its size 30x30 cm. A selection for the coffee table.
Gunnar Hoydal, Jan Andersson, Ilona Raipala, and Inger Smærup Sørensen have written the text, while Marius himself has written about the technology in original print. The book is available in Faroese and English.
"Marius Olsen’s sumptuous works house infinite layers. On top of a base layer appear fine, fragile and lyrical planes. Humorous, self-ironic layers, mystical, intimate and symbolic layers, and subtle, philosophic layers are gradually unveiled. Right in front of our eyes grow layers of expressive madness, of a clean ornamental joy and of a beautiful, dark depth only seen in Marius’ works. There is no other place like it in the world."
