The author, who herself has reached the golden years, recounts incidents from the lives of women.
The protagonist in nearly every story is a woman. Not the same woman, but women of different ages, with different names, in various environments, where they experience various incidents, that cause dilemmas and various problems, which they solve in their own way, or which they do not manage to solve.
All of the stories address existential problems, frequently from a rather different angle than what we are used to. The various themes concern issues between people of different ages, between people of the same gender, and between people of opposite genders.
The stories with female protagonists could well be interpreted as the life story of one and the same woman, with each story providing insights into the woman’s life at different stages.
